Does Love Just Happen?

Many people believe that falling in love is something that happens to them but have you ever considered that falling in love is actually a choice? If you believe your soulmate was predestined to be with you then you probably subscribe to the idea that love just happens. But what other factors contribute to finding the one?

Some people believe soulmates are predestined while others believe they show up at the right time under the right circumstances. In my opinion, I think it’s a combination of both being predestined, as well as falling into love with someone due to circumstance or timing. It truly depends on where you are in your life that determines when you meet the potential love of your life. For example, if you are not in the right place mentally then you may not be ready to settle down. If your focus is to grow your business, further your career, or if you’re on a journey of healing in your personal life, then you might not even recognize a potential partner if they were standing in front of you. Until you reach a point where settling down or being in a relationship is a priority for you, then you may not seize the opportunity for the possibility of love. When it comes to falling in loves, timing plays an important role.

For those who believe soulmates are predestined, they will say that fate led them to meet their soulmates, even if the timing wasn’t ideal. Some would argue that people come into your life for a reason – to teach and learn from one another through hardships as well as valuable life lessons. In some cases, people might meet at the wrong time in their lives because they are not ready for that kind of love yet. They may even subconsciously push people away until they feel prepared to give and receive unconditional love.

On the other hand, those who believe falling in love is simply a matter of circumstance, they can argue that soulmates can be met in the most unexpected places and at any given time. They could also contend that people come into your life for a reason or a season, just like those who believe soulmates are predestined do; it’s simply their perspective on why the meeting occurred.

Whether it’s a matter of destiny or a matter of circumstance, people can come into your life at any time, whether you’re ready or not. If soulmates are truly destined to be together, then that means they will find each other regardless of the circumstances. And for those who believe that love is a choice, then they’ll choose to receive love when the time is right.
