So I’ve been meaning to do a tribute post for a while now and today I thought, what better day than #WCW to send love to the beautiful Keyshia Kaoir. If you’ve been under a rock for the past few years, then that’s the only way you would have missed this girl. She’s not only a model, but a mogul and today, she is my muse.

There are several reasons why I love her. The first one is obvious, she’s drop dead gorgeous. But in my mind, she’s just a beautiful on the inside as well. The picture above is how I first came to know her, scrolling aimlessly on YouTube at all of the talented MUAs and otherwise beautiful girls/gurus. I came across Ms. Kaoir’s tutorial of her famous “glitzstick”.I watched the tutorial, studying how face, her Caribbean accent, oh and the lipsticks, which BTW are ah-mazing! My first thoughts were, who is this chick with this bomb haircut, bangin body and blue lips?! I wanted to know everything about the girl.

When I came across a documentary that she’d produced, my infatuation with her grew even more. The one take away that I remember her saying is that she wanted to become a “self-made millionaire”. And that stuck with me, as inspiration.

Following her career has made me realize even more that if you are truly passionate and driven to succeed, then you will. She inspires me to believe that my dreams are attainable. What I appreciate about her is that aside from her Bentley, Rolls Royce and extensive collection of Christian Louboutins, she still seems relatable. One of my “fan” moments was when I’d only been active on Twitter for a couple of weeks, I casually @-ed her in a tweet, not ever expecting to her pay attention, let alone respond, and to my surprise, she did! I’ve noticed that she is very active with her fans on social media, which is not something many celebrities can say.

Not only to intend to pursue my dreams with drive and purpose, I hope to one day be able to meet her to let her know how much of an inspiration she has been to me.
