Dear Future Self

This year I decided to write a letter to my future self. I wanted it to serve as a reminder of the hopes and dreams I have for myself this year. As much as I love a good old fashion hand-written letter, I’m more of an email kinda girl, these days, which is why I scheduled my letter to come to me on January 31. Instead of looking towards what ALL I wanted to accomplish over the next 12 months, I thought it was better for me to establish short term goals.

Writing the letter will serve as an accountability checkpoint to see what I’ve been able to accomplish. So I wasn’t overwhelmed, I included just 3 things in my letter that I wanted to be intentional about. Many of you know that my word for January is intention & my primary objective is to focus on my mental and physical well-being. Thus, I have 3 goals for this month:

  • 5 AM Workouts. This is a physical & mental task that I’ve always wanted to do.
  • Make better food choices. Because…what’s the point of working out & eating cheeseburgers?
  • Write at least one blog post a week. Building my consistency muscles.

Could you benefit from writing a letter to your future self? If you could give yourself a piece of advice, what would it be?
