Mental Health: Check-In

I have to be honest here, I felt like an emotional basket case today.

Have you ever felt perfectly fine one minute & deeply sad the next for no apparent reason? If you’ve never experienced this sudden wave of emotions, I’ve got to tell you, the shit is scary.

For the life of me, I could not shake that feeling today. One minute, I was sitting at my computer, then the next minute, I literally felt this soft sadness that I couldn’t quite pinpoint a source for. Granted I was having one of those typical Mondays but up until that point, I had made an effort to not let my circumstances get the best of me.

At first, I tried listening to music because that always makes me feel better. After that didn’t help, I turned on my white noise & tried totally zoning out. Hand to my chest, I listened to my own breaths until I heard my heart say, “It’s okay. I’m here.”
